Hello hello and Happy Weekend to you all. Yes folks, I am still around. It has just been a busy few months for us here but I haven’t forgotten you all and if you follow Mumchic on Facebook then I guess you sort of know what I have been up to as well. What did you say? You don’t follow us on Facebook ? Are you serious? Have you even heard of social media? You have! Oh Phew… got me worried there for a minute! Anyhow, if Facebook is your cup of tea, do drop by and say hello, I would love to have you there :)

Right, that was the shameless self promotion segment of this post! Oh wait , here’s part 2.

You know me, I’ve always had a bit of a thing about being a celebrity one day. I am dramatic enough. Apparently. So when I was recently asked to be interviewed by www.eviexclusive.com , can you imagine the stir it caused here at Mumchic HQ? The wonderful folks at EVI Exclusive promoted the interview as an exclusive with the “star” behind Mumchic.

Me? A Star? I suppose I could handle that!

Something Lovely, Something Inspiring.

Last weekend I had two wonderful bloggers nominate me for a couple of Lovely and Inspiring Awards, this is my acceptance post.

A smell you adore.

I have a lot of favourite smells so today’s decision was a difficult one but one I knew I had to make having missed yesterday’s shot. There’s the smell of coffee or the sweet fragrance of  something baking, the headiness of the smell of petrol or that soft mix of baby powder and head to toe baby bath when you hold a  newlyborn , just to name a few.

Decisions ! Decisions !

Finally I have decided to go with a fragrance that has now become my signature perfume.Ladies, this is definitely one for the wish list if you don’t already own a bottle. Sultry but not overbearing, sweet but not heady , a fragrance that defines classy and so very chic, you will have people asking you what you are wearing , I promise !

A steaming and delicious cup of caffeine goodness to drink, something to read and something to write…that is me.

P.S – I refuse to be judged on the basis of my taste in books, Fifty Shades Of Grey is all the rage with thirty-something women at the moment.Sometimes, the price you pay for maintaining your uber cool-ness quotient is your own dignity!

A friend who chooses to remain anonymous shares with Mumchic’s readers ,  the trials and triumphs of a road less travelled. Please note , I have deliberately chosen not to make any edits to the piece as it spoke volumes to me in its rawness and honesty , adding or taking anything away from it would do it much injustice . Over to you , guest author.

For You Believed

There will be the highs and lows

There will be a search , optimistic , relentless

For answers , for a utopia you have never known

There will be a moment too many

When you will want to give it all up

To find bliss in the arms of the beloved

To come back to the one

And all you know as home

Most nights

You will gently slip into a slumber

Only too exhausted to dream

You will laugh but you will cry more

There will be a leap of faith or two

You will fear the failures

And celebrate the smallest successes

You will trust and wonder , you will vehemently question , you will hope

And you will dare

But there is also the promise each sunrise brings

Of a slowly unraveling dream

 Distant but not invisible

For you dared , for you believed and persevered

For you travelled a path

You didn’t even know existed
